Summer is here, time to play and have fun in the pool! We need to remember that part of having fun in the pool is staying safe by learning how to swim. This is why I am including Kaiser Permanente’s “Operation Splash” as part of my Summer Educational Series.
Kaiser is partnering with cities throughout Southern California to offer “Operation Splash”, a program designed to encourage exercise and provide free swim lessons for low-income youth and adults, They also offer free junior lifeguard training.
The following cities/counties have been offered grants: City of San Bernardino Parks, Recreation, City of Riverside Parks, Recreation, Desert Recreation District, Coachella Valley Recreation and Park District, Indio, North of the River Recreation and Park District, Bakersfield, City of Ventura, Community Services Department, Ventura, Friends of Chula Vista Parks and Recreation and city of Los Angeles.
