Logan’s Candies – Candy Cane Demonstration’s

Every year in December Logan’s Candies, host candy cane making demonstrations. I know, Summer isn’t even over yet but now is the time to schedule a tour if you’d like to visit Logan’s Candies. Last year my Girl Scout Troop visited Logan’s Candies for this one if a kind tour.

Logan’s Candies have been making candy cane’s by hand for over 80 years. They make candy cane’s all year long, taking special request for specific shapes, colors and flavors from all over the world.  One of their most popular holidays in Valentine’s Day.

They are located in a small shop in downtown Ontario, the beginning portion of the demonstration is watching him from outside shop window (so dress warmly).  Once inside, you truly get the experience of an old time candy shop.

The owner/master candy maker explains how they make the candy canes, all the while he’s working with huge slabs of melted candy, puts it on a large hook, stretching and twisting it into what becomes candy canes.

Each one of my girl scouts were able to form their own candy cane and take them home. My favorite part was when they passed around warm freshly cut chunks of candy cane for everyone to sample.

If you would like to tour Logan’s Candies as a group – be warned they sell out quick. You need to call now for a tour in November or December. The demonstration lasts approximately an hour.
