Mad Monster

Mad Monsters is a classic 1967 Rankin/Bass romp is a fantastic flashback to stop animation before Burton was all the rage. Mad Monster Party takes place on Dr. Frankenstein’s Island of Evil, where he’s corralled his monster buddies for his retirement and naming of his successor. All the groovy ghoulies are there – Dracula, Werewolf, Mummy, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, Frankenstein’s Monster and Mate (Phyllis Diller) among others. In addition to his monster-making sayonara, Dr. F (Boris Karloff) will share his “secret of total destruction!” Be there or be square. And did you know – Mad Magazine creator Harvey Kurtzman penned the script (with writer Len Korobkin) and Mad artist Jack Davis designed many of the characters.
